Vision

The vision of the Messiah Baptist Church Music Ministry is to glorify God through sacred song, uplift the Body of Christ, and draw souls unto salvation.  We seek to preserve and honor the rich heritage of the African American Baptist worship experience while ministering with excellence, unity, and reverence, that God may be praised in spirit and in truth (John 4:24, KJV).

Mission

The mission of the Messiah Baptist Church Music Ministry is to lead the congregation into heartfelt worship through Biblically grounded music, disciplined service, and spiritual integrity.  Through song, we proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teach sound doctrine, and encourage the saints, allowing the Word of Christ to dwell richly among us (Colossians 3:16, KJV).

Goals

1. To spiritually and musically develop choir members and musicians through prayer, rehearsal, biblical teaching, and fellowship, ensuring that all who serve do so with excellence, humility, and faithfulness unto God.
2. To preserve, teach, and celebrate traditional and contemporary gospel music rooted in the African American Baptist tradition, while engaging and mentoring future generations for continued ministry and worship leadership.

Other Information

Since the founding of Messiah Baptist Church, the Music Ministry has been a cornerstone of worship and spiritual expression. Through choirs, musicians, and special music, the ministry has served faithfully in worship services, revivals, funerals, weddings, and community outreach. Many testimonies affirm that lives have been encouraged, healed, and drawn closer to Christ through the ministry of music. God has consistently used this ministry to unite the congregation and magnify His holy name.
